This 2005 book by Elizabeth Marquardt stimulated a lot of discussion about the impact divorce has on children. Read Dawn's comments about the study.

Children and Stepfamilies: A Snapshot
Provided by the Center for Social Law and Policy. This 12 page pdf document discusses the prevalence of stepfamilies today. Unfortunately, it does not cite research thoroughly to back up all of its assertions. However, it does explore some of the challenges facing stepfamilies today.
